Long cabbage from Halland with Bohuslän seaweed
Cabbage in all its forms when the holidays come and tradition in all its glory but it can be fun to shake them up sometimes - just a little. Try our lovely long cabbage recipe with vegetables from the sea.
You need :
1 kg kale
3-4 dl blanched seaweed
50 g butter
2 dl cream
2 tbsp syrup
Grated nutmeg
Salt and white pepper
Here's what you do:
Rinse the kale and remove the coarse stem. Boil in salted water for about 15 minutes. Add the blanched sugar kelp and cook for a few minutes. Strain the water and squeeze out the kale and seaweed, chopping finely. Put butter in a saucepan and fry the mixture, pour in cream and syrup, simmer until it thickens. Add spices to taste.
