About Nordic SeaFarm

Growing the Raw Material of the Future

A blue revolution.

Mankind has made enormous strides in streamlining our global food supply. Unfortunately, the same industrialisation of agriculture and unsustainable animal farming has led to extreme violations on our planet. If we want to give the next generations a future, we need to radically change our farming and consumption habits.

We need to find more nutritious crops where we go straight to the calorie source and look beyond the arable land that is diminishing day by day. Nordic Seafarm wants to drive a blue revolution where together we can use the ocean to grow decent stuff for a growing population. We are convinced that this is just the beginning for plant-based food grown in the sea and are already working with Sweden's best restaurants and food companies to develop tomorrow's flavours and products from Swedish seaweed. Join our revolution!

Our Roots

The year was 2016 and Sweden's leading experts in sustainable seaweed farming had just successfully completed several research and development projects on large-scale farming along the west coast of Sweden.

The result? The raw material maintained the highest product quality, the environmental impact was positive with data showing that the seaweed farms absorbed carbon dioxide and marine life around the farms increased.

Today, Nordic SeaFarm is one of Europe's leading producers of fair-grown seaweed and works with a range of food chain stakeholders to develop new products and services.

We are convinced that this is just the beginning for organic and plant-based food grown in the sea and that history is ahead of us.

Be part of the blue revolution we are driving together and take action for the next generation. We look forward to creating tomorrow with you!

Our seaweed farms

Growing plant-based with crops that are naturally present in our waters means a sustainable way to produce food and food for us humans.

The Sugar kelp Nordic SeaFarm grows is a nutritious ingredient that can be blended into both traditional and new recipes. In addition to being a flavoring, sugar kelp add several important nutrients and antioxidants that are vital to us humans.

Growing plants in the sea does not take up any land, while the marine environment is improved by increasing the biodiversity of other species in and around the farms.

Large-scale seaweed farming is a climate-smart way to grow crops through its uptake of carbon dioxide and phosphorus and contributes to reducing eutrophication of our oceans.

Team

The Nordic SeaFarms team consists of a dedicated group of enthusiasts who are passionate about sustainable food development, technology and the future of food. We have taken our mixed knowledge in research, entrepreneurship & food skills to aim for our common goal - a sustainable future.
